I'm wondering if any of you have some good advice for web site promotion. I've recently started a new web project (a chatbot) and need to get some more people chatting to it.
Like you have, Thunder, I've added my bot to a number of top sites, yours included, and as a result I've had a few more logs to review each day. I've also added my bot's url to a number of sites about the ways of the vampire, which I hoped would help quite substantially, but it hasn't.
I've added it to search engines such as Google and Yahoo!, but I realize it can take a while before my site will get added to their directory.
I'd be very grateful for any tips.

I think you picked the perfect time of the year to start a Vampire Bot. With Halloween near, a lot of goth or spooky-related sites are active. You might look at some and see where they are promoting. I'm fond of toplists, and if you Google topics such as "Goth Toplists," or "Halloween Toplists," or something like "Haunted Sites" you may find what you're looking for. You may have already read my post about promotions HERE. For more ideas, you might visit the Chancery House and click on the "LINKS" tab about half-way down the page. You might try clicking on other images at the site. There's a lot to do. I've also linked to gaming and RPG and Paranormal sites. If they don't want you, they'll just reject your application. Most are glad to have you. Look around the bottom of Proboard sites where you can usually become an "affiliate" by exchanging links and maybe an 88x31 button. I've added it to the toplists you suggested, and the Halloween Directory, too. I completely forgot about Halloween, probably because it's not something which I enjoy. But nevertheless, many people do, and my bot fits in with it quite well. |
